Welcome to Villa Belong Dua

Villa Belong Dua is an enchanting two-bedroom holiday villa in Bali, located in the heart of the tiny fishing and temple village of Seseh on the island’s south-west coast. Resting on 1600 square metres of land in a beautiful walled garden complete with 20 metre swimming pool, the traditional architecture and artefacts celebrate the heritage of Bali, incorporating the symbolic elements of Balinese Hinduism.

A series of five pavilions, positioned in accordance with ancient cosmology, offer contemporary, stylish and romantic interiors enhanced by both modern and antique furnishings and equipped with 21st century facilities.

Guests at Belong Dua are warmly welcomed and well cared for by a villa manager and team of experienced staff.

About Villa Belong Dua

Villa Belong Dua is the perfect destination for those who want to get lost in the beauty of the Bali countryside, gain privileged insights into the Balinese Hindu lifestyle and experience the warm hospitality, history and culture of this unique tropical island.

Not so long ago, stone water vessels (belongs) could be found in every Balinese household; used to store water for drinking and washing. These essential household accoutrements are showcased within the grounds of Villa Belong Dua along with an antique jineng/lumbung, or traditional thatched Balinese rice barn from the village; now a photographer’s delight, or a kids’ playhouse, but once a symbol of social status indicating the ownership of precious rice.

Relatively newly built, but based on a time-honoured Balinese compound design, Villa Belong Dua offers guests the luxuries of space, comfort and privacy in two charming bedroom pavilions and open-sided living and dining areas, all encircled by a delightful, mature walled garden featuring a 20-metre-long swimming pool alongside a delightful bale gede (relaxation pavilion). Facilities within the villa include complimentary WiFi internet, LCD screen satellite-channel TVs and DVD players, an iPod with three docking stations, and a modern, well-equipped western kitchen.

A team of experienced staff, including a private chef, extend their hospitality to guests, providing full housekeeping services and preparing meals from a suggestion menu of Asian and Western fare. The villa manager is also on hand to assist guests and ensure that all expectations are met – if not exceeded.

Belong Dua is located in a traditional village street, which is well lit at night. A nearby pathway offers walks to the river, rice fields and Seseh beach, which is only 300 metres from the villa.

Villa Location

The fishing village of Seseh grew in importance in 18th century Bali when it became home to the major temple of the former Kingdom of Mengwi. At that time it was also a small trading port, inhabited by a number of families of Chinese decent.

The village still retains the customs and culture of old Bali. Here, you will see the rice being planted and harvested in the fields, fishing boats returning with the night’s catch, as well as frequent, colourful processions to the large beachside temple.

Today, Seseh is an ideal destination for those who want to get lost in the beauty of the countryside and engage with the local people to gain privileged insights into the Balinese Hindu lifestyle: the people of Seseh encourage and welcome congenial visitors.

There are no international restaurants here, but the villa is only 30 minutes’ drive (15km) from the many restaurants and shops of cosmopolitan Seminyak. The renowned surfers’ haunt of Echo Beach is also within easy reach (8.5km), where guests can enjoy the laidback vibe, an ice-cold beer and some incredible sunsets.

  • The Menu:
Guests at Villa Belong Dua can enjoy delicious home-cooked food – Asian and Western – prepared where and when they like.  The chef loves to delight visitors with his beautifully presented dishes – from Balinese chicken curry, to nasi goreng (fried rice), to steak and chips.
  • The system:
Suggestion menus are available at the villa but it is highly recommended that guests meet with the villa manager and chef at the start of their stay to discuss food preferences, special dietary needs and meal schedules.  An open dialogue will keep both chef and guests happy! It is also necessary to discuss meals in advance (ideally 24 hours) to allow the chef the time he needs to prepare and provision.
  • Food and Beverage charge:
Daily breakfast for up to four adults is included in the villa rate, but all other provisions will be purchased by the chef and charged to guests at cost plus a small transport fee. Receipts will be provided either daily or at the end of the stay – as preferred.  It is also requested that the chef be given a float to cover the grocery shopping. Wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks are also available on request and will be charged for at the end of your stay.
  • Children at villa belong dua:
Villa holidays are an excellent option for families. Advantages include having access to your own private facilities, such as a swimming pool, living space and gardens, and having the freedom to use them whenever you want.  Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

Massage and spa services can be provided within the privacy of the villa by professional therapists from a nearby spa at very reasonable prices, and villa staff are on hand to assist with appointments.

A car with driver can be organised at a reasonable extra cost for guests who would like to have their own private transport – either for a few hours or for their entire holiday.  Please let us know your requirements in advance of your arrival. Alternatively, don’t hesitate to ask the villa manager to call one of the island’s safe and reasonably priced metered taxis for one-off journeys.
