Villa Taman Caliandra, a luxurious four-bedroom villa tucked away on the slopes of ‘the Bukit’ on Bali’s south coast. Built in traditional Balinese thatched-roof style and situated towards the top of a gentle valley, the villa enjoys views over tropical woodland to the sea in the far distance. Located near the village of Pecatu, 25 minutes from the airport and Kuta, this villa is only a short hop to some of Bali’s best beaches such as Dreamland and Padang-Padang.

Taman Caliandra has been built as a series of pavilions set around a large free-form swimming pool, all nestled within a verdant tropical garden. Tastefully furnished and decorated, it is complete with all modern amenities. The property comprises a main lounge and dining building, four large bedroom suites and various support buildings.

The main pavilion has a spacious split-level lounge/dining area, a fully equipped Western-style kitchen and a guest toilet. There is a TV corner in the lounge as well as comfy sofa seating and the dining room easily accommodates eight around the large square table. From this imposing building you can enjoy unimpeded views over the magnificent swimming pool and surrounding garden.

Each of the four large air-conditioned bedrooms offers an en-suite bathroom and double sliding glass doors onto terraces with sweeping views over the grounds. Two of the rooms have king-sized beds and two are twin bedded (one of which can be converted to a double, if required). Three of the en-suites are “garden” bathrooms and the Master Bathroom has a sunken bath big enough for two!

Central to Taman Caliandra is the superb swimming pool. Over 15 metres long, half of the main pool is 90cm deep and the remainder slopes down to a 2m deep end. Seating ledges set around the deep end allow you to recline and relax in the water. There is a small shallow area at the pool terrace and, additionally, a lower pool below the waterfall. The pool is treated using a salt chlorination process rather than harsh chemicals – so no sore eyes after a day in the pool!

Sun-loungers, and a large umbrella to shade you from the sun, are on hand at the pool terrace; patio tables and chairs can be positioned by the poolside for alfresco dining; and steamer chairs are located on the shaded master bedroom terrace.

A Bale Begong (gazebo), surrounded by a shallow fishpond, lies just beyond the swimming pool in the lower garden and is the ideal location for a massage, a snooze in the shade or simply a quiet retreat with a book.
